The Eucharist will change your life!

This is what Fr. Mike Schmitz said to a congregation during Mass at a Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) event.

"Do you realize what's about to happen on this altar? What's about to happen on this altar is so...radically different than what happened to the swamp land--what happened to the desert," he says in the video.

"Don't even try to tell me that beholding that glory can't change me. Don't even try to tell me that beholding that glory can't change you."

"Do you realize what's about to happen on this altar? What's about to happen on this altar is so...radically different than what happened to the swamp land--what happened to the desert.

"What's going to happen is that this bread and this wine are going to become the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of God Incarnate.

"In a few moments, you and I are going to be able to behold...

"We are going to be able to hold in our hands or in our mouths, in our very bodies - the glory of God. The glory as of a Father's only Son.

"Don't even try to tell me that beholding that glory can't change me. Don't even try to tell me that beholding that glory can't change you.

"Don't even try to tell me that your life is too much of a cesspool to be transformed by the power of God's word to become flesh. Because it's not true."

This is not the first time Father Mike Schmitz expressed his passion for Jesus in the Eucharist.

Last year, Father Mike explained how the Eucharist transformed his own life. Ascension published the video in response to the USCCB's current Eucharistic Revival.

"The Eucharist has been number one in my life."

In the video, he explains his "conversion moment."

While reading one of his parents' books at age 15, his "mind was blown" and his "life was changed forever" upon realizing the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

Ever since then, he always chooses to talk about the Eucharist when given the opportunity.

Throughout the video, Father Mike explains how Jesus clearly define his Real Presence in the Eucharist in scripture.

"He's not speaking figuratively. He's speaking literally. The Eucharist we have in our Masses--the Eucharist we have every single Catholic Church throughout the world for the last 2000 years--is not a symbol of Jesus. It truly is Jesus' Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity," he says.

"This teaching changed my life. This teaching is worth living for. This teaching is worth dying for. This teaching is worth giving up hockey tournaments to make sure you get to Mass every single Sunday.

"This teaching has the ability and the capacity to change your life as well."

"Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.

"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and I'll raise him on the last day."
(Jn. 6:53-54)
