Planned Parenthood has committed “real genocide” against the African American community, host of America’s Got Talent Nick Cannon said during a recent radio interview.
“Think of all the stuff they did with Planned Parenthood,” Cannon said of Hillary Clinton and her supporters. He was responding to one of the radio show hosts who brought up concerns that Donald Trump may appoint Supreme Court justice who will try to reverse Roe v. Wade. “That type of stuff is to take our community – forget gentrification – it’s real genocide, and it’s been like that for years. This system is not built for us.”
Even though African Americans only make up about 12% of the U.S. population, they have 28% of the abortions. Studies have shown that Planned Parenthood clinics tend to be located near minority neighborhoods.
Cannon has had a prolific entertainment career, was success in movies, television, and music. It’s rare for celebrities in those industries to speak out against abortion or Planned Parenthood.
