“We Still Believe in Jesus”: Liberated Iraqi Church Holds First Service in 2 Years

Al Jazeera English, Facebook

A recent successful military offensive by the Iraqi army has reclaimed former Christians town in Iraq from ISIS. The amazing video below shows Assyrian Christians celebrating their first service in two years, even amidst the rubble in their church trashed by ISIS.

“When we lift the cross up, we give Daesh a message,” a priest says in the video. “We still believe in Jesus Christ, we still believe in the cross, and by the cross we do everything in our belief.”

What great faith amidst terrible persecution. And their singing is very beautiful, too!

Praise the Lord!
