Here’s a story of hope!

The Elkhoueirys had just moved into their new home in Virginia a month ago and hardly knew their neighbors yet. But when a fire in the house was visible from the street, a man driving by rushed to the door and alerted them. The neighbor then ran upstairs and helped get their children out of the house. Other neighbors sheltered them in their homes and have since raised more than $30,000 on GoFundMe. Talk about a great neighborhood!

But there was another sign of hope: one of the only things that survived the fire was the wife Rita’s rosary, which was inside her nightstand, which somehow survived the fire when everything else around it was destroyed.

My angels are watching over us!” Rita told their local news station.
