Wow! I’ve never seen anything like this before!
A man recently tried attacking a Brazilian Catholic church before Sunday Mass on June 16, resulting in a congregation riot.
The riot occurred at the Parish of the Infant of Prague in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará in Brazil after the suspect attempted to assault a parishioner. The man also threatened parishioners with an apparent weapon and vandalized the church.
Witnesses believed the suspect was armed, but after realizing he was not, they quickly came to the parishioner’s defense.
Watch the video below:
Reports said police then arrested the man after treating him for injuries. He was released the next morning on bail after being charged “in flagrante delicto with a felony for bodily injury, damage, and for crime against religious sentiment.”
They do not yet know the suspect’s motive.
Parish priest Fr. Cícero Leandro said they celebrated Mass as normal.
Let us pray for protection against religious attacks!
Our Lady, please pray for Christ’s Church!
