Have you ever heard Pope St. John Paul II sing the Ave Maria?

It is so beautiful!

According to the Amazon listing, this “recording was originally released on a long play recording in 1979.

“Having had a copy presented to His Holiness by Mr. Matulewicz, the choir director of this release, the Vatican provided, on behalf of the Holy Father, this letter of appreciation:

“The Holy Father has read your letter and has directed me to express his thanks to you and to the Ave Maria Choir for the record that you have offered for his acceptance.

“He is grateful for this gift and he greatly appreciates the devoted sentiments that prompted it. His Holiness prays that God will grant all of you an abundance of joy and strength, and he cordially imparts his Apostolic Blessing.”

However, according to EWTN’s Life on the Rock, he recorded this 1976 before becoming pope in 1978.
