Two videos surfaced of Democrats omitting “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance at the Democratic National Convention.

The Knights of Columbus helped add these words to the Pledge by petitioning congress in the early 1950s. Pres. Dwight Eisenhower made the addition official on Flag Day in 1954.

During the Muslim Caucus and Ally Assembly, delegate AJ Durrani omits “Under God” from the Pledge. CBN News’ chief political analyst David Brody posted the video.

Brody’s tweet reads, “Democrats leave out, ‘Under God’ from the Pledge of Allegiance at the [Democratic National Convention] Muslim Caucus meeting this week. Watch delegate AJ Durrani skip it. Featured speakers at the event were Bernie Sanders, Rashida Tlaib, [and] Tom Perez.”

Brody posted a second video showing an LGBT Caucus representative “purposely leaving out the words, ‘under God’.”

The second tweet reads, “At the [Democratic National Convention], [the] LGBT Caucus purposely leaves out the words, ‘under God’ from the Pledge of Allegiance. Watch. This now makes twice that two key constituencies of the Democratic Party have done this.”

Here’s what some people said about it:

This user wrote, “The statement “under God” puts the flag/country under God’s authority. Without those two words the pledge [is] powerless and self serving. [In my humble opinion.]”

This user added, “Absolutely disgusting!”

Another user wrote, “When you leave out ‘under God,’ there’s no reason to finish this Pledge of Allegiance, and without God, you will have no fear and reverence to keep your pledge.”

On the fact-checking website Snopes, the outlet rated the claim “mostly false,” while still admitting the Democrats did omit “under God” from the Pledge.

Here’s a screenshot below:

The screenshot reads:

“What’s true: “The phrase ‘under God’ was omitted from at least two recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance at individual caucus meetings during the DNC in 2020.”

“What’s false: The DNC did not issue any guidelines forbidding the use of the phrase. On the national stage, the phrase ‘under God’ was used during the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of each night of the 2020 DNC.”

However, the website’s question stated, “Did Democrats omit ‘under God’ from “Did Democrats Omit ‘Under God’ from the Pledge of Allegiance?”

The website answers with “mostly false,” while Democrats at the DNC did, in fact, remove God from the pledge.
