This is very sad!

AT&T commercial star and ‘This is Us’ actress Milana Vayntrub penned an essay about an abortion she had 10 years ago.

The actress told her abortion and birth story while also promoting the Women’s Health Protection Act. The bill makes abortion “rights” federal law, overturning state abortion limits or bans.

Senate leader Chuck Schumer plans a Feb. 28 vote on the act.

In the essay, Vayntrub explained her passionate pro-abortion position, her unplanned college pregnancy, and why she believes “forced” motherhood is a form of imprisonment and cruelty.

She also tied her abortion story into her recent childbirth story.

Vayntrub first became pregnant while living with her college boyfriend. She said her “moral compass” told her to abort her child.

“My compass pointed very clearly in the direction of not bringing a child into the world that I did not want and could not care for.”

“Within two weeks, I had a safe procedure in my doctor’s office, and it was no big deal.

“Over the past decade, I’ve hardly thought about my abortion, except for when I think of those who may not have access to one.”

Vayntrub: “Unwanted” pregnancy and motherhood is imprisonment and cruel.

“I find myself thinking about how imprisoning it would be to go through this if I didn’t choose it,” Vayntrub said of her recent childbirth. “If I was forced into it because laws didn’t give me any other option.”

“Becoming a mother has made me even more adamant about access to safe, legal abortions.”

“I know the toll of sleepless nights and a torn body, the necessity of support, the pause it puts on your career, relationships, and goals. I cannot fathom the cruelty of enduring all this plus a lifetime of childrearing if you do not want it.”

“For so many reasons, I am grateful for the beautifully boring abortion I had and the essential health care I received. Mainly because today, I can show up for my little person with open arms knowing I’ve chosen our life together.”

Abby Johnson Responds: “Abortion is Never the Answer”

Former Planned Parenthood clinic director, pro-life advocate, and LoveLine founder Abby Johnson told ChurchPOP that celebrities like Vayntrub “promote one of the biggest lies women are told – that they need abortion to accomplish their dreams.”

“True feminism is not building your career on ending the life of your unborn child as so many celebrities like Milana Vayntrub have publicly cheered.

“They are promoting one of biggest lies a woman is told: that they need abortion to accomplish their dreams and goals, that true empowerment is choosing an irreversible and devastating procedure that kills their child and can have lifelong mental and physical repercussions on the mother.

“Throughout my eight years working at Planned Parenthood, I told that same lie to thousands of women. In fact, it is this lie that the entire Supreme Court case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health for the abortion industry rests upon, that women cannot achieve equality unless they eradicate the growing life inside them.

“If celebrities like Milana Vayntrub want to help women, then they should advocate for policies that truly help women like paid maternity leave (I offer 12 weeks paid leave at my small non-profit) and funds that help meet the immediate needs of women in crisis.

“Abortion is never the answer and it is terribly sad that celebrities are attributing their success to the termination of the lives of their own children.”

Catholic Church Teaching on Abortion

“Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2270)

“Since the first century, the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law…” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2271)
