Jesus first appeared to St. Faustina Kowalska on Feb. 22, 1931.

He gave this young mystic and nun many inspiring and important messages that we can apply to daily life. Many of the topics included his desire for souls to cling to His Merciful Heart, repent, and trust in Him.

Even though uneducated, St. Faustina recorded Jesus’ apparitions in her now-famous diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul.

Below are 13 messages Jesus presented to St. Faustina, as recorded in her diary:

1) “The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is — trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive.” (Diary, 1578)

2) “A pure soul has inconceivable power before God.” (Diary, 534)

3) “The prayer of a humble and loving soul disarms the anger of My Father and draws down an ocean of blessings.” (Diary, 320)

4) “Pure love gives the soul strength at the very moment of dying. When I was dying on the cross, I was not
thinking about Myself, but about poor sinners, and I prayed for them to My Father.” (Diary, 324)

5) “When the priest acts in My place, he does not act of himself, but I act through him. His wishes are Mine.” (Jesus speaking of the Sacrament of Confession. Diary, 331)

6) “Although My greatness is beyond understanding, I commune only with those who are little. I demand of you a childlike spirit.” (Diary, 332)

7) “…when you are obedient, I take away your weakness and replace it with My strength. I am very surprised that souls do not want to make that exchange with Me.” (Diary, 381)

8) “Even if the sins of souls were as dark as night, when the sinner turns to My mercy, he gives Me the greatest praise and is the glory of My Passion. When a soul extols My goodness, Satan trembles before it and flees to the very bottom of hell.” (Diary, 379)

9) “…as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; for at that moment mercy was opened wide for every soul.

“In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world – mercy triumphed over justice.” (Diary, 1572)

10) “The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to My mercy. My mercy is confirmed in every work of My hands. He who trusts in My mercy will not perish, for all his affairs are mine, and his enemies will be shattered at the base of My footstool.” (Diary, 723)

11) “If your trust is great, then my generosity will be without limit.” (Diary, 548)

12) “There are few souls who contemplate My Passion with true feeling; I give great graces to souls who meditate devoutly on My Passion.”  (Diary, 737)

12) “Say unceasingly the chaplet that I have taught you. Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners as their last hope of salvation. Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this chaplet only once, he would receive grace from My infinite mercy. I desire that the whole world know My infinite mercy. I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy.” (Diary, 687)

Note: Many messages are not included on this list. St. Faustina’s Diary is more than 600 pages long and truly a masterpiece. It is well-worth the read!

Jesus, I trust in You!
