The film will take its story from Fr. Amorth’s writings, including his exorcism accounts. Avery obtained licensing from Loyola Productions and producer Michael Patrick Kaczmarek of Jesus & Mary.

Filming will begin in September in Ireland.

“It’s been a goal of mine to work with Russell,” Avery told The Hollywood Reporter. “To collaborate with him on the amazing Pope’s Exorcist is truly a dream come true.”
