On July 21, 2025, ChurchPOP reported that Catholic Answers’ apologist, speaker, and podcaster Trent Horn announced that his wife, Laura, was diagnosed with brain cancer.
The couple requested prayers for a miracle through the intercession of Ven. Aloysius Schwartz, an American Catholic priest and missionary renowned for his work among the poorest of the poor in South Korea, the Philippines, and Mexico. Ven. Aloysius Schwartz dedicated his priestly ministry to serving orphaned and abandoned children through his founding of the Sisters of Mary and the Brothers of Christ.
Laura recently underwent brain surgery and is currently in the recovery process. Horn frequently posts updates regarding his wife’s condition.
In an update posted on August 20, 2025, Horn expressed his gratitude to God and all the prayers said on his family’s behalf after meeting with Laura’s oncologist.
Horn said Laura’s medical team “was shocked at how few cancer cells were in the tumor and that they were not seen dividing.”
“They said it's 'barely' a grade 2, so they don't recommend any drugs or radiation—just periodic MRIs. Thanks be to God and for all your prayers!” he said.
Below this update, Horn reposted his July 21 prayer request asking the social media community to turn to Ven. Aloysius Schwartz for her miraculous healing:
