On Friday, November 21, Pope Leo XIV sat down for a digital encounter with over 16,000 young people from across the United States at the National Catholic Youth Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Holy Father allowed several young people to ask him questions addressing various topics.
Some of the subjects covered included accepting God’s mercy, surrendering our struggles to the Lord, communicating better with others, distractions during prayer, and balancing faith and technology.
He also stressed the importance of the youth in the Catholic Church today and in the future.
Below are 10 of Pope Leo’s best quotes for Catholic youth:
"God loves us, and evil will not prevail. We are all in God's hands."
"You are not only the future of the church, you are the present. Your voices, your ideas, your faith matter right now. And the church needs you."
"If you want to change the world, begin by letting God change you."
"Jesus takes nothing away, and he gives you everything. When we give ourselves to him, we receive far more than we could ever imagine."
"Be intentional with your screen time. Make sure technology serves your life and not the other way around."
"Remember, AI can never replace the unique gift that you are to the world."
"The world needs missionaries. It needs you to share the light and the joy that you have found in Jesus."
"The church needs what you have been given to share with all of us. If you want to help the church prepare for the future, start by being involved today."
"What greater gift can you offer the world than the gift of eternal life in Christ? What greater cause could you dedicate your life to than the Gospel?"
“As you go closer to Jesus, do not fear what he might ask of you. He challenges you to make changes in your life, it's always because He wants to give you greater joy, greater freedom. God is never outdone in generosity.”
