Did you know you can find music in the tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe? Specifically, her mantle?

How is that possible?

Mathematical accountant Fernando Ojeda made the incredible discovery.

"The Instituto Superior de Estudios Guadalupanos gave me the mission of studying the image by applying the only science that had not been used before in image studies: Mathematics," said Ojeda, a Mexico resident and mathematical accountant.

Previous studies of Our Lady of Guadalupe's tilma were already astonishing.

"In previous studies of the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, I reasoned the following: if the stars on the mantle represent the constellations in the sky at the time of her apparition, if the dress proportionally represents the main hills and volcanoes of Mexico’s landscape, and if the whole image follows the golden ratio, then it has perfect symmetry—and therefore, it has music," Ojeda explained.
"Pythagoras pointed out that where there is perfect symmetry, there is music."
"Since the positions of the stars were different, I considered that each star, according to its position, and each flower center, according to its position, corresponded to a specific musical note," he continued.

Ojeda placed the image inside a golden rectangle. A music expert then superimposed a piano diagram and documented the notes represented by each point of the flowers and stars.

Finally, Fernando Ojeda input the notes into a music program. The result was astonishing: a melody of perfect harmony!

Following this discovery, musician Jorge Carlos Milan Magaña took these notes and created symphonic arrangements. His adaptation was inspired by the styles of Mozart and Bach.
