Did you know there’s a museum dedicated entirely to the vestments of the Infant Jesus of Prague?

This unique museum houses historical garments, crowns, photographs, and gifts from around the world. It’s a must-see destination for pilgrims!

Located next to the Church of Our Lady of Victory in the Czech Republic—where the famous Infant Jesus of Prague is venerated—the Museum of the Garments of the Infant of Prague offers visitors a closer look at one of the most beloved traditions connected to the devotion: dressing the image in special vestments according to the liturgical season and major feasts of the Church.

The museum entrance is located at the front of the church, to the right of the altar. From there, a spiral staircase leads visitors to the exhibit, where they can admire a carefully curated collection of historical vestments alongside modern robes donated from countries around the world.

Among the museum’s most remarkable pieces are:

  • A dress donated by Empress Maria Theresa of Austria
  • A dress donated by author Paulo Coelho
  • A crown donated by Pope Benedict XVI during his 2009 visit to the church
  • A historic Rococo-style crown of the Child Jesus
  • Vestments from South Korea, the Philippines, Italy, Poland, and many other countries

Visitors can also view photographs showing the process of dressing the image, along with panels displaying life-size images of the Infant Jesus of Prague wearing vestments in different liturgical colors.

A Collection of Nativity Scenes From Around the World

On the museum’s ground floor, visitors will also find another special exhibit: a collection of nativity scenes from different continents. Each display reflects the traditions and artistic styles of cultures from around the world.

The museum is free to visit and makes for a fascinating stop for anyone traveling through the city and hoping to learn more about the history and spirituality surrounding the Infant Jesus of Prague.

The museum opens every morning after Mass and is closed on Dec. 25 and Good Friday. On Dec. 26, Jan. 1, and Easter Monday, it follows its Sunday schedule.

Museum Hours
