It has been a year since former Wall Street businessman turned priest, Father Dan Reehil, sat down with podcaster Shawn Ryan.

Their conversation was so impactful that clips are still making their way across the internet.

During their conversation, exorcist Father Dan Reehil gives what the show believes is the scariest explanation of Hell you may ever hear.

In a clip shared by The Shawn Ryan Show, Ryan asks, “Is Hell an actual place or is Hell a realm that surrounds us?”

For clarification, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 1035, says this about Hell:

“The teaching of the Church affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. Immediately after death, the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, ‘eternal fire.’ The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.”

In the viral clip, Father Reehil begins, “Well, the world is looking more like Hell. But I think Hell is a place.”

He elaborates by explaining that currently, souls are in Hell. Not physical bodies.

“The spirit can experience more pain than the flesh,” he points out.
“So their torment is worse than what we would experience in this life.”

This means that we cannot fathom the torment and torture the souls in Hell are truly experiencing.

Various saints have been granted mystical visions of Hell that verify this.

Saint Catherine of Siena once said,

“I saw the torments of hell and those of purgatory; no words can describe them. Had poor mortals the faintest idea of them, they would suffer a thousand deaths rather than undergo the least of their torments during a single day.”

However, Father Dan Reehil notes that the same is true for Heaven.

“Heaven is so much better than this life than people can imagine,” Father Dan Reehil offers.

He adds that oftentimes, when people come back from a near-death experience, they don’t want to. Even a mere taste of Heaven makes it that way!

He also says that these individuals have told him personally that there are smells and colors we have yet to experience. Can you imagine?
