After being crowned Miss Universe Costa Rica, Mahyla Roth visited Our Lady of the Angels to fulfill a promise she made earlier this year and to thank God for her victory.
On July 19, Roth was crowned the new beauty queen who will represent Costa Rica at the 74th Miss Universe pageant, which will be held in Thailand in 2025.
Through her social media, the model shared a touching moment when she visited the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels in Cartago, Costa Rica. There, she presented her crown to the country’s patron saint—an act that fulfilled the promise she made months earlier.
“Going to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and bringing her the crown is a promise fulfilled and the answer to many of my prayers 🙏🏻. Today I can only say THANK YOU,” she wrote.
Roth also expressed her gratitude to God and entrusted her participation in the international competition to His providence.
“Today I thank God, who has accompanied me through every part of this process, and I entrust the entire journey of this great experience to Him ✨. A new path begins toward a new dream 👑🇨🇷. I know that with the blessing of God and the Virgin, it will be a beautiful journey 🙏🏻✨.”
The beauty queen also thanked the public for the greetings and expressions of affection she has received during this time.
In the shared video, she is seen kneeling at the altar with her crown in hand, praying before the Blessed Sacrament and the image of the Virgin of the Angels, affectionately known as La Negrita.
The video has touched many hearts, with social media users leaving heartfelt messages of support:
“When dreams are placed in God’s hands ✨ everything works out for the best 🙌🏼 Congratulations.”
“Oh, it brought tears to my eyes. How beautiful it is to walk in faith 🥹🙏🏽🫶🏼. May God and the Virgin Mary continue to accompany you every step of the way ✨.”
“Let no circumstance in life change our faith and belief in God.”
