Can you imagine if a Winter Olympic Medalist came to daily Mass at your parish?

This is what happened when three-time Polish ski jumper medalist Kacper Tomasiak attended Mass to thank God after two of his victories.

The 19-year-old won two silver medals and one bronze medal, becoming the first-ever Polish ski jumper to win three medals at a single Winter Olympics - the Milano Cortina 2026 Games.

On February 9, Tomasiak won the silver medal in the normal hill. On February 14, he won the bronze medal in the individual large hill. On February 16, he won a second silver medal in the super team event.

After winning his second medal, Kacper Tomasiak thanked God for his success during Mass in Predazzo, Italy.

Father Edward Pleń, the athlete chaplain for the Polish Episcopal Conference, celebrates daily Mass at the Olympic Village in Predazzo

Just hours before Tomasiak competed and won his third medal on February 16, he attended the priest’s noon Mass and brought his two medals. Father Pleń told Fakt that the 19-year-old athlete “was the lector and wanted to thank God for his medals.”

“That was the first time I met [Kacper Tomasiak],” Father Edward Pleń told Fakt. “We chatted, and I was captivated by this young man. He only speaks as much as necessary. He's not a talker.”

Several social media users commented on the priest’s post about the Olympic athlete. Here’s what some people said:

“If you approach success in this way, God will allow you to achieve many more successes,” one user commented. “A beautiful testimony of faith. Congratulations.”
“Great!” another user commented. “Please thank Kacper for his valuable testimony of faith. It’s especially important for the younger generation.”
“Well done! Keep it up,” another person wrote. “I wish you God's blessings. May God watch over you and give you strength to fight.”

Let us pray in thanksgiving for Kacper Tomasiak’s bold and beautiful witness to the Catholic faith!
