On Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, something extraordinary will happen.
Across the five continents — from bustling cathedrals to hidden monasteries, from mountain chapels to coastal parishes — the Catholic Church will rise as one body, united before the Eucharistic Lord in prayer thanks to an initiative launched by RAYA — Rosary and Adoration Youth Apostles, affiliated with the Shrine of Saint Maria Goretti in Miziara, Lebanon, with the blessing of Archbishop Youssef Soueif of the Maronite Catholic Archeparchy of Tripoli, and in collaboration with the Association for the Development of Pilgrimages and Religious Tourism in Lebanon (APL) and the Carmelites Monastery in Harissa.
No matter the time zone, no matter the size of the community, your prayers will be part of a continuous chain — 1700 hours in honor of the 1700 years since the Council of Nicaea.
This historic event will offer 1700 hours of simultaneous Eucharistic Adoration worldwide on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and it will carry a special meaning: it coincides with the birthday of our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.
What greater gift could we give the successor of Saint Peter than the sight of the entire Church kneeling together for peace, unity, and fraternity?
Why This Matters Now
“That they may all be one” — Jesus’ prayer in the Gospel of John is not a dream; it is a mission for every believer.
Around the world, wars continue to destroy lives. In the Middle East, ancient Churches still suffer persecution and displacement. In many countries, Christians live their faith with courage under difficult conditions.
In this Jubilee Year “Pilgrims of Hope”, marking the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea — where the Church’s leaders, in the Spirit, proclaimed together “We believe” — we are invited to renew that same unity.
We also celebrate the 800th anniversary of the birth of St. Thomas Aquinas, whose Eucharistic hymn “Adoro Te Devote” will be our common song of adoration.
How It Works
The initiative calls on parishes, monasteries, and communities across the globe to choose at least one hour of Eucharistic Adoration on Sunday, September 14th.
Within these hours, we will pray for:
- Peace in the world 🌍
- Unity among Churches and Christians ✝️
- Fraternity among all peoples 🤝
- Pope Leo XIV’s intentions on his birthday 🎉
- Countries like Peru 🇵🇪 and the United States 🇺🇸 have already stepped forward with an enthusiastic yes.
Now, it is your turn.
How to Join
Your community can sign up now and choose an hour of Adoration that fits your parish schedule. Let us raise together a global hymn of love to Christ in the Eucharist, and present it as our birthday gift to Pope Leo XIV.
