Catholic comedian, author, and speaker Jennifer Fulwiler announced on Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, that her eldest daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Fulwiler revealed on her podcast, The Jen Fulwiler Show, that her daughter is currently in the ICU and undergoing a multiple-hour brain surgery involving several brain surgeons.

“We need prayers. My oldest daughter, a sophomore in college, was just diagnosed with a brain tumor. This is all happening very quickly. We just got the diagnosis 48 hours ago, as of this recording,” Fulwiler says as she opens her show.

“She was just having headaches, and we did some quick scans to rule things out,” Fulwiler continues.

Fulwiler adds that the brain surgery will occur on Monday, October 6, and will be “between eight and 12 hours long with a team of five neurosurgeons. She is currently in the intensive care unit.”

Fulwiler asks prayer warriors to turn to Our Lady of Champion (also known as Our Lady of Good Help), which is the only Church-approved Marian apparition in the United States.

Our Lady of Champion’s feast day is on October 9.

“The shrine is up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I've been there, had a wonderful experience with the people there. And so that's the main patronage we're asking for. And that might change,” Fulwiler said. “Please ask for the prayers and the guidance of Our Lady of Champion.”

Prayer to Our Lady of Champion

O, Dear Lady of Champion, you revealed yourself as the Queen of Heaven to your servant, Adele. You gave her a mission to pray for the conversion of sinners, to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to others, and to prepare the children for the reception of the sacraments.

I trust that, as you called Adele to holiness, you are calling me, in my station in life, to live a holy life, devoted to Jesus Christwith the help of your maternal love.

I bring before you now my worries and anxieties. I abandon my attachments to them and place them at your feet.

I ask you to hear the deepest longings of my heart as I pray most earnestly for: ____________

(your intention).

Dear Lady, you told Adele, and you say to all of us,
“Do not be afraid; I will help you.”
Help me now as I place this intention
with complete confidence and trust.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.

Our Lady of Champion, pray for us!
