The Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on Oct. 7.

Diocese of Tyler, Texas Bishop Joseph Strickland announced a 54-day Rosary Novena beginning Oct. 7 and ending Nov. 30. He invites all Catholics throughout the world to pray for the Church, world, and the United States of America

The bishop posted the details in an Oct. 6 Twitter post.

“All are invited to join us as we pray for our Church, our world [and] our nation,” Bishop Strickland tweeted. “May all of God’s children who have wandered from His path of Truth [and] Love know that His great Mercy calls them back to His Loving Son in the power of His Holy Spirit.”

The bishop first announced the invitation on Sept. 9. He asked the faithful to “storm heaven” for the Church, nation, and the world. He said the novena begins on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (Oct. 7) and ends on the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle (Nov. 30).

The diocese also issued a press release inviting the faithful to join the novena.

“During the Novena, Bishop Strickland asks those praying to reflect on 1 John 4:16 – ‘We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.’ – as we pray, through the Blessed Virgin Mary’s intercession, for our Church, country, and the world.”

How to Pray the 54-Day Rosary Novena

Our Lady gave the 54-day rosary novena to young visionary Fortuna Agrelli in 1884. The novena consists of three nine-day novenas of petition, and three nine-day novenas of thanksgiving.
