Pray for these university students!
TFP Student Action recently posted a video of their peaceful pro-life rally on the Columbia University campus in New York City.
University Students verbally harassed the group as they prayed the rosary, handed out pro-life flyers, and held a banner saying “pray and act to end the sin of abortion.”
Many of the students surrounded the TFP Student Action group, threw signs of profanity, argued that fetuses are not human, and mocked them for praying the rosary and worshipping God.
Some students mocked God saying, “Hail Satan!” “Mary supported abortion!” and mocked the Holy Trinity.
Other students did, however, thank the group for advocating for the unborn. Some pro-abortion students even complimented their efforts.
Here’s the video below:
“They’re allowed to do that here?” one group of students said. “Make it [TFP] go away.”
“Whose property is it that you’re referring to–our bodies?” one woman said. “You’re coming to our campus to tell us what to do with our bodies. You have no say in that!”
One TFP Student Action member said a man spat on his shoe as he walked by. The students also mocked their attire and ripped up the pro-life flyers.
“Shame on you…you don’t even know what you’re talking about,” one woman argued. “I don’t even want to hear your opinion!”
Another person said, ““You’re so medieval.”
TFP Student Action’s press release stated that the medieval insult was a “compliment because Christian Civilization flourished in the Middle Ages. And the virtues of Catholic Chivalry continue to inspire faithful men to this day, including TFP Student Action volunteers.”
Catechism of the Catholic Church teaching on abortion:
“Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” (CCC 2270)
“Since the first century, the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law…” (CCC 2271)
Pray for an end to abortion!
