Pray for Kourtney Kardashian!

Media personality Kourtney Kardashian married musician Travis Barker on Sun. May 22, in Portofino, Italy.

Kardashian’s attire outraged many Catholics after she wore immodest and provocative clothing with a theme based on the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Her veil featured an image of Our Lady while she wore a short, skintight wedding dress. She also posted photos wearing a lingerie-like dress with an image of Our Lady stitched immediately below her breast.

Media outlets described the ceremony as “religious,” however, Catholics felt much differently.

Here’s how some people reacted:

In a lengthy Instagram post, Anna Lulis of Students for Life said Kardashian’s actions are a “mockery of Catholicism.”

Here’s the post below:

The full post reads, “This is a mockery of Catholicism. / Christianity isn’t a costume. It’s a faith that should be revered especially in the context of a supposedly ‘Christian’ wedding.

“Imagery of Our Blessed Mother (or any Christian imagery and/or symbolism) isn’t a prop to be used on provocative clothing. [Kourtney Kardashian] and [Travis Barker’s] wedding was an example of a perversion and complete misuse of holy images— it was disrespectful and sacrilegious.

“[Chad Veach] should’ve never encouraged or endorsed such a wedding. / Please note: This wedding was NOT a Catholic Mass and Chad Veach is not associated with the Catholic Church.”

Here’s how some users directly responded to Kourtney Kardashian’s post:

One user said, “How disrespectful to the [Virgin Mary]”.

Another user wrote, “I’m not even Christian and even I am offended by this nonsense. It’s fine if you’re not religious, but then leave all of the religious symbols alone! Leave those for the people it actually means something to and you carry on living life whatever way you want.”

One Instagram user also wrote, “Here comes the blasphemy.”

Another user responded, “…exactly. How about this person respects and stays away from what others have as sacred?”

One user added, “Mother Mary is not a fashion statement. Stop trying so hard, Kourtney.”

Let us pray The Angel’s Prayer of Fatima in reparation for this terrible offense against Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart:

The Angel’s Prayer of Fatima

“O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary I beg the conversion of poor sinners.”
