The rosary is a spiritual weapon for peace!

Nov. 8 is election day in the United States. Amid political violence in our country over the last few years, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone announced that he will pray the Rosary for peace on election day.

Archbishop Cordileone asks Catholics to join him in a livestream rosary on YouTube at 12:30 p.m. PST, or 3:30 p.m. EST.

Here’s his Twitter post below:

@ArchCordileone, Twitter

The tweet reads, “At 12:30 pm on election day, please join me to pray a rosary for peace. Let us ask Our Lady’s intercession with the Prince of Peace, who suffered much violence for peace in our day, and eternal peace.”

His post also includes a link to the rosary event announcement.

“As Americans participate in the electoral process and with political violence on the rise, we will pray for peace in our country,” the website’s announcement reads.

“As part of living the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the Archdiocese, we ask Our Lady’s intercession with the Prince of Peace, who suffered much violence for our own eternal peace.”

California will vote on Proposition 1, a radical bill legalizing taxpayer-funded abortion up until birth. The Archdiocese encourages Californians to vote “no” on this bill.

Voters will also decide on similar abortion bills throughout the country, including bills in Michigan and Vermont.

“Today…let us all pray that we have the courage to stand by the unborn child, and give the child an opportunity to love and to be loved, and I think with God’s grace we will be able to bring peace in the world.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta

Let us pray for peace and an end to abortion in our country!
