Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety? You're not alone, and your Catholic faith holds powerful answers!

In this episode of “The Catholic Gentleman,” John Heinen welcomes Joe Hart, the transformational CEO of Dale Carnegie, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of “Take Command.”

They discuss practical Catholic wisdom to help you navigate major life transitions, build lasting relationships, and maintain family priorities amid professional demands!

1) Reflect With Daily Prayer

Hart says starting each day with specific, intentional prayer can powerfully impact your mental wellbeing.

"For me, the first 30 to 45 minutes of every day is deeply wrapped up into prayer. I spend that time praying, but I might look back and say: 'Okay, so what do I have to be grateful for? Where is the Holy Spirit working in my life?'"

Establishing a daily routine like this can help turn your everyday worries into spiritual strength!

2) Challenge Your Mindset

Overcoming anxiety starts with changing how you think. Hart explains, "Dale Carnegie said, 'The most important thing is the value of what we think. If I know what you think, I know who you are.' The biggest challenge I think we all have: our lives are what our thoughts make it."

By choosing faithful affirmations over negativity, you can effectively combat anxieties and grow deeper confidence rooted in Catholic teaching.

3) Redefine Failure with Faith

Anxiety often arises from a fear of failure, but what if you saw failure through God's eyes?

"If failure is, 'I tried to do this and I didn't achieve the result,' we're going to fail all the time. That's not necessarily a bad thing. What can I learn from this? This is all part of God and the experience of equipping me to deal with things and to grow."

Hart says joyfully embracing this perspective changes setbacks into steps toward spiritual growth.

The gentlemen say that putting these principles into practice will transform your anxiety into authentic confidence!
