Do you have problems that rob you of your peace?

If anxiety overwhelms you, the nuns of El Dardo shared five pieces of faith-based advice to trust in God and place your fears and difficulties in His hands.

On their Instagram account, the nuns said Jesus is a doctor and medicine for our wounds.

“He is the only one who can heal us and make us completely free! Do not be afraid if you feel your heart is broken… God can make all things new!” they said.

Below are the five spiritual remedies they recommend for fighting anxiety:

1) Live in the present.

Anxiety often robs us of the present moment as we worry about the future.

Remember that God cares for you, and His plan is perfect. Live one day at a time, trusting that He will provide for your future needs.

“Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matt. 6:34)

2) Remember God's promises.

Anxiety often arises when we feel like we're losing control. Instead of trying to handle everything on your own, give your worries to God. Trust that He listens and has a plan for you, even in the most difficult times.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

3) Pray with sincerity.

Prayer is a powerful tool. Talk to Jesus and express your fears, worries, and anxieties. Remember the words of St. Paul:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, present your requests to God, giving thanks.” (Philippians 4:6)

4) Write a litany of trust.

Writing often helps us clarify our thoughts and feelings.

Writing your prayers down can help you release whatever troubles you. With each sentence, write, “Jesus, I trust in You.” It helps a lot! Even more so if you dare to repeat them out loud.

5) Invoke the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Remember these words of Saint Bernard:

“In dangers, in anxieties, in doubts, think of Mary, call upon Mary."

Ask for help from our Mother in heaven.

She is always ready to intercede for us, her children. Praying the Rosary or simply saying, “My Mother, help me” can fill your heart with comfort, peace, and calm.

Below is a prayer to entrust your difficulties to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

Act of Trust in the Heart of Jesus

Oh, Heart of Jesus, true God and true Man, delight of the Saints, refuge of sinners, and hope of those who trust in You, You tell us kindly: Come to Me; and You repeat to us the words You said to the paralytic: Trust, my son, your sins are forgiven; and to the sick woman: Trust, my daughter, your faith has saved you; and to the Apostles: Trust, I am He, do not be afraid.
Encouraged by these words, I come to You with a heart full of confidence, to tell You sincerely and from the depths of my soul: Heart of Jesus, I trust in You.
Yes, O Heart of my loving Jesus, I trust and will always trust in Your goodness; and, through the Heart of Your Mother, I ask You that this trust in You may never fail, in spite of all the setbacks and trials that You would send me, so that, having been my consolation in life, You may be my refuge at the hour of death and my glory for all eternity. Amen.
