Catholic Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg celebrated his son's reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation with his family and announced it to his more than 30 million Instagram followers.
In the original video published on May 19, 2025, the “Father Stu” actor and producer shared that his son, Brendan, was confirmed. Within the video, he published depictions of himself, his son, and his wife posing for photos.
“Hey, have you ever seen a confirmation class that big?” Wahlberg asks his more than 30 million followers. He turns the camera towards the massive class, each dressed in white robes.
The actor then shows the social media audience several photos of his family, including one with Las Vegas Archbishop George Leo Thomas.
Mark’s wife and Brendan’s mom, Rhea Wahlberg, also published several photos. She congratulated Brendan on “being confirmed into the Catholic Church.”
“Congratulations, Benny, on being confirmed into the Catholic Church. 🙏🏼 God loves you so much, and he will be with you through every up and every down forever. We love you, sweet boy,” Rhea wrote in the caption.
As of this writing, Mark’s video has received over 3,000 comments, 240,000 likes, and two million views. Several people, including notable celebrities, congratulated Brendan.
