Holy Week is an opportunity to pause, reflect on Jesus, and walk with Him as a family. To help you live this time more deeply, the Catholic app Theo offers seven simple prayers to pray together each day.
Sometimes we don’t know what to say to God, especially when we are tired or stuck in a routine. But prayer does not need to be complicated—what matters is a willing heart. These moments, shared as a family, can transform how we experience the most important days of our Christian faith.
With this in mind, Theo proposes a series of short prayers that help us not only remember what Jesus experienced but also accompany Him and allow Him to transform our lives.
“Holy Week is not just about remembering what Jesus experienced… It’s about walking with Him, day by day, also from our homes, as a family. And small prayers can completely transform that journey.”
Below are the prayers for each day of Holy Week:
1) Holy Monday
Jesus, teach us to love with a sincere heart.
You who know the deepest parts of our hearts, help us to live in truth. Cleanse us of all that does not come from You: selfishness, impatience, and hurtful words. Make our hearts a pure place where Your love can grow and bear fruit.
May we, in our family, learn to see each other as You see us—with tenderness, patience, and mercy. Teach us to truly love, not only with words, but with concrete actions that reflect Your presence within us.
2) Holy Tuesday
Jesus, help us to trust in You even when we do not understand.
There are times when the path is unclear, when doubts, fears, or insecurities arise. In those moments, remind us that You are with us, that nothing escapes Your care, and that Your plan is always good—even if we do not fully understand it.
Give us a heart that does not turn away in the midst of difficulty, but remains steadfast in You. May we, as a family, support one another, walk together, and trust that You guide us step by step, even in what is unseen.
3) Holy Wednesday
Jesus, deliver us from everything that separates us from You.
Today, we surrender to You our weaknesses, our wrong decisions, and everything that slowly cools our love for You. Sometimes, without realizing it, we choose fleeting things that pull us away from what truly matters.
Give us a faithful heart—one that will not compromise Your love for anything. Help us always to recognize You and to return to You whenever we stray. May we, in our family, choose You each day, freely and with sincere love, even when it is difficult.
4) Holy Thursday
Jesus, thank You for staying with us in the Eucharist.
Thank You for Your love that draws near, that gives itself, and that endures. At the Last Supper, You showed us that to love is to serve—to give oneself without reservation and to put others first. Today, we want to learn from You and live that love in our family.
Teach us to serve one another with joy, to care for the little things, and to love even when it is difficult. May we never forget that You are alive and present, walking with us each day—especially in the Eucharist.
5) Good Friday
Jesus, today we contemplate Your cross.
Today we stand in silence before Your total self-giving. On the cross, You showed us how much You love us—completely and without reservation. Thank You for bearing our sorrows, for holding us in our wounds, and for never abandoning us.
Teach us to embrace our own crosses with hope, knowing that love always has the final word. May we, as a family, support one another in difficult times and remember that, even in pain, You are with us.
6) Holy Saturday
Jesus, we wait with You in silence.
Today it seems that everything is on hold, that there are no answers, and that the pain still lingers. In this day of silence, teach us to trust, to wait, and not to lose faith even when we cannot see clearly.
May we, as a family, remain united in hope, knowing that You are still at work—even in hidden ways. Grant us a patient heart, one that knows how to wait on You with trust and surrender.
In the silence, teach us to listen to You and discover that, even here, You have never left us.
7) Easter Sunday
Jesus, today we celebrate that You are alive.
Today, everything changes. Sadness turns into joy, darkness into light, and death into life. Thank You for Your victory—for Your love is stronger than anything—and for giving us a new beginning.
Fill our home with Your joy and hope. Help us to live as children of light, sharing Your love with others in our daily lives. May our family reflect Your new life.
Jesus, live in us today and forever! Amen.
