This is terrible! 😭
Security at a Minnesota Mall told a man to remove his “Jesus Saves” T-shirt or leave, a viral video shows. The incident occurred in Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn. on Jan. 7.
In the video, the man wears a yellow shirt with “Jesus Saves” on the front, and “Jesus is the only way,” on the back. The back also crosses out ‘coexist.’
“Jesus is associated with religion and it is offending people,” the security guard says as he confronts the man.
“It’s not about religion, it’s about eternal life,” the man responds.
“Okay, but people have been offended,” the security guard reiterates. “All we ask is that you take your shirt off. You can go to Macy’s or you can leave.”
“I didn’t say anything. I didn’t speak,” the man says.
“If you want to shop here, you need to take that shirt off,” the security guard again says in a harsh tone.
“What is wrong with it? What is wrong with my t-shirt?”
“Again sir, it is religious soliciting. There is no soliciting on our property, which is private property,” the security guard reiterates.
“I’m a citizen. I know the constitution. Last time I was here, they told me to leave for 24 hours. I did. That day I was preaching. I was preaching the Gospel that day.”
The guard continues arguing with him until the video ends.

Mall of America told The Daily Mail that they later allowed the main to remain in the mall while wearing the shirt.
Social media users across the internet expressed their outrage over the situation.
Here’s what some people said:
Protestant pastor Jay Haizlip wrote, “A man wearing a ‘Jesus Saves’ shirt at [Mall of America] is ordered to take it off or leave. Persecution is happening and we must not back down. ‘Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.’ 2 Timothy 3:12”
Another user said, “When they say Christians aren’t being persecuted in America show them this. / Our nation wants to erase Jesus out of our society, but they can’t because He’s the truth. 🕊”
This user added, “We live in a society where a man can’t even wear a ‘Jesus Saves’ T-shirt without being stopped and harassed by mall cops.”
Twitter user Carol Harper also said, “There is no way this should happen in USA. He has a free speech right to wear that shirt, and a freedom of religion right to practice his faith in public places. More people should wear Christian shirts to that mall.”
This user added, “I’m not even Christian, but this is crazy!! A guy got kicked out of Mall of America for wearing a “Jesus saves” shirt. Saying he’s soliciting just by wearing that shirt and he needs to take it off. UNACCEPTABLE.”
Pray for persecuted Christians!
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
