This is awesome! 🙌

Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to victory in the AFC Championship game on January 26, securing the team's spot in Super Bowl LIX.

The victory gives the Chiefs a chance at a third consecutive Super Bowl win.

After the historic January 26 win, Mahomes chose to glorify God and congratulate his team rather than take all the credit for himself.

"First off, I want to give all glory to God. Without Him, none of this is possible. And I truly mean that," Mahomes told CBS following the January 26 AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills.

"I'm so proud of my teammates--how they responded. That was a great football team. I am at a loss for words. I'm excited for New Orleans," he continues.

Mahomes then reiterated that the win was a team effort.

"It's not about one guy. It's not about a couple of guys. It's about the whole entire team," Mahomes says. "That's why we're so special. It's a team effort and it's a team football game."

The Christian Faith of Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes often publicly proclaims his Christian faith in interviews.

In a 2020 FCA interview, Mahomes said he prays "at the goalpost."

“Before every game, I walk the field and I do a prayer at the goalpost. I just thank God for those opportunities and I thank God for letting me be on a stage where I can glorify Him,” Mahomes said. “The biggest thing that I pray for is that whatever happens, win or lose, success or failure, that I’m glorifying Him.”

In this 2023 interview, Patrick Mahomes says he integrates his faith into everything he does.

"My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do," he says. "I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His Name."

"It has a role in everything I do, and obviously, I'll be on a huge stage in the Super Bowl," Mahomes continues. "I want to make sure I'm glorifying Him while I do it."

This year's Super Bowl will take place on Feb. 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
