The Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon appeared on Joe Rogan’s Aug. 16 podcast to discuss a variety of issues.
The Babylon Bee is a Christian satirical news site, and Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, is the number one podcast on Spotify. The show generates about 11 million listeners per episode.
During the three-hour podcast, Dillon and Rogan address the abortion issue, particularly in regards rape. Dillon posted the video on Instagram, saying he “didn’t expect to debate abortion with Joe Rogan.”
Rogan passionately defends abortion in rape cases, while Dillon explains its immorality.

Here’s the text of the video:
“You don’t have the right to tell my 14-year-old daughter that she has to carry her rapist’s baby,” Rogan begins. “You understand that?
“To look that woman in the eye who was born of a rape…” Dillon responds.
“If a 14-year-old child gets raped, you say that they have to carry that baby?” Rogan asks again.
“I don’t think two wrongs make a right. I don’t think murder is an answer to–I don’t think murder fixes a rape,” Dillon says.
Rogan then asks, “What if we’re talking about an abortion when the fetus–literally, it’s like six weeks, four weeks, three days. What if she just turned positive for pregnancy? What if it happened today?”
“I just disagree that you can draw a line on when once life begins. I don’t think you can draw lines,” Dillon continues.
“I would lay it out like this: I would say it is wrong to intentionally kill an innocent human life. Abortion intentionally kills an innocent human life. Therefore, abortion is wrong.
“And I don’t think any of the examples of ‘Oh, well how developed is it? Can it think? Is it conscious? Can it dream? Can it feel pain?'”
Rogan then asks, “So for you, it’s the moment of conception.”
“I think that if it’s a human life, and a distinct human life, then it’s wrong to end its life,” Dillon responds.
Rogan continues, “Do you think that once the conception happens, there’s some sort of miraculous event?
“Like at the very moment, could you literally get to the point where the sperm cracks the egg? If you could scoop the egg out right there, would that be abortion?”
“Well, I mean, at some point, you’re going to have to say there was a magic moment that happened, because you believe that we eventually become valuable humans, right? Where’s the moment where you think the magic happens?” Dillon asks.
“When we start talking about harmful misinformation, and the types of things that are considered, like, that I say, or that we tweet, or the jokes that we make, that are considered harmful misinformation.
“I’m like, ‘Well, what about calling that baby a clump of cells? I think that’s harmful misinformation, because then you’re encouraging people to kill it like it’s nothing when it’s actually a human life. It’s a developing human life.
“I think abortion is health care the way rape is lovemaking. (If we want to use rape as an example.) I think they’re opposites. And it’s like these are euphemisms that we use.
“You know, we use the word health care. We’re talking about a procedure that ends an innocent human life, and we’re calling it health care? That’s like calling rape lovemaking.”
Rogan then responds, “And this is why it is such a human issue, because I see what your’e saying.
“Life if valuable. Like yes! And people have–almost were the victims of abortion, and they weren’t. They went on to become these amazing people. We would have lost them,” Rogan concludes.
“Sometimes it’s a failed abortion,” Dillon chimes in. “There’s people who have survived a saline abortion and they’re damaged as a result of it. But they lived and now they’re born.
“They usually go on, ironically enough, to become pro-life activists.”
“That’s crazy. That’s wild. But it makes sense,” Rogan reacts. “I mean, if that’s what made you, would you be a pro-life activist?”
Dillon responds, “Probably would be.”
The Babylon Bee CEO later published an anonymous message from a rape victim. She said he “made a great point.”

The post reads, “You made a great point. Thank you. I was raped when I was 15, I got pregnant, I had an abortion, the abortion was the saddest thing I’ve ever done. Heartbreaking.”
The post’s caption reads, “The guilt and shame only multiplies. What a profoundly sad story. But I’m grateful it was shared.”
