There’s so much evidence Jesus’ Resurrection occurred!

Father Ronald Vierling, a well-known Catholic priest with more than 40,000 Twitter followers, shared some “‘common sense’ proofs of Our Lord’s Resurrection” in a recent social media post.

Father Vierling published the information on Easter Sunday, generating a viral response from platform users.

He included eight bullet-points, including facts about Jesus’ resurrected body, the apostles’ preaching of a physical resurrection, the apostles and early Christians readily embracing martyrdom, the conversion of the Jews, and more.

As of this writing, the post generated nearly 300,000 views.

Here’s Father Vierling’s list below:

Here’s the text of his post:

“Some ‘Common Sense’ Proofs of Our Lord’s Resurrection

a) No body was ever found, although both the Jews and the Romans had every motive to produce the body publicly to discredit Christianity in its infancy;

b) The Apostles preached a physical Resurrection, not a spiritual one;

c) The willingness of the Apostles and early Christians to embrace martyrdom;

d) The Resurrection story was never retracted, even under torture and threat of death;

e) Myths develop over generations. There are no parallels in human history of myths developing and being believed in the presence of witnesses (hostile to Jesus), and within the short time-frame in which the New Testament was formed;

f) Given the story and strong Jewish antipathy toward myths and legends, there is no cultural way that the Jews would have developed the Resurrection story or a mythical Jesus. No other culture in history has more opposed mythical confusing of divinity with humanity than the Jews;

g) The first witnesses of the Resurrection were women—whose testimony was not admissible in a court of law;

h) Conversion of the Jews: who had to break with their notion of a military deliverer, and instead embrace a hung criminal; they had to abandon their deeply engraved understanding of monotheism to worship Jesus as God’s Son; and their willingness to change their worship from Saturday to Sunday, the day of the Lord’s Resurrection.”
